Frontier Areas from 2010 U.S. Census

This list is based on data from the 2010 Census and feedback from the State Offices of Rural Health. It lists:

• Counties/areas designated as frontier by the Satat Offices of Rural Health based on data from the 2010 U.S. Census;
• The population of frontier areas;
• The total area, land area and water area of frontier areas;
• The population density of frontier areas.

These data were used to create the maps of frontier areas presented on this website.
